Dr. Xin Wang is a nationally recognized wealth advisor and the Founder of Abacus Financial Strategies LLC, based in Houston, Texas. He helps affluent families, business owners, physicians, and executives preserve, grow, and transfer wealth through comprehensive financial planning, sophisticated estate planning, and advanced wealth transfer strategies.
Recognized nationally for both his professional achievements and his commitment to client service, Dr. Wang was ranked No. 55 in Forbes America's Top 100 Financial Security Professionals in 2026 after earning the No. 72 ranking in 2025. He served as Council President of New York Life in 2024. This once-in-a-career honor recognizes Dr. Wang as the top-ranking individual out of the company’s 12,000+ professionals. Notably, he also made company history by serving two consecutive terms as Council Vice President before becoming Council President.
Dr. Wang earned his Ph.D. from the University of Milan and holds the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®), and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) designations. Before transitioning to financial services, Dr. Wang practiced as a heart surgeon in China, which instilled in him meticulous precision, exemplary discipline, and a deep dedication to service. These attributes continue to shape his work as a private wealth advisor today.
Outside of his professional career, Dr. Wang cherishes time with his wife, Min, to whom he has been happily married since 1993, and their two children, Tian and Joy. He enjoys cooking, fishing, and creating memorable moments with family and friends.
